Cave Photography Workshop led by Robbie Shone

We are pleased to announce that from April 9 to 12, 2026, in Costacciaro (Italy), the Italian Federazione Umbra Gruppi Speleologici (FUGS), in collaboration with Ipogenica APS, will be hosting the second edition of the Cave Photography Workshop led by Robbie Shone.

Following the success of last year’s edition, this workshop returns as an exclusive opportunity to experience an intensive and inspiring deep dive into the art of cave photography. The number of participants is limited.

This workshop offers a rare chance to learn directly from one of the world’s most iconic and inspirational cave photographers. Over four intensive days, participants will push their creative boundaries, master advanced lighting techniques, and learn how to capture scale, atmosphere, and emotion in spectacular underground environments in the heart of the Umbrian Apennines.
An explorer of caves and a visual storyteller, Robbie Shone is widely recognized as one of the most accomplished cave photographers in the world. For more than 25 years, he has documented the underground world through extraordinary images, taking part in expeditions to some of the most remote regions of the planet and photographing the deepest, largest, and longest cave systems known. His work has been featured in major international magazines and books and has contributed to scientific projects, films, and documentaries worldwide.
